Most people ask how to go from PDF to PCL, because they want to create a PCL Form Overlay from a form in PDF format. If that’s the case, then you will need PCLWorks and IMG2PCL to convert your PDF to PCL. Both programs are included with any version of PCLWorks Program.

If you look for “pcl-form-overlay-and-logo-macros” in our help categories. You will find instructions on how to get from PDF to PCL.

Some clients want to edit a PDF print stream, extract text block data, indexing information, add OMR/QR Codes/Barcodes/add-on pages or otherwise edit the PDF. If that is the case, you will need PCLTool SDK – Option V to develop a custom PCLXForm script. And, you should start-off with fully describing your application, workflow, editing rules/resources and other requirements.
