PCL to PDF with Canon MFD

Posted on | September 16, 2010 | 1 Comment

Hi Team,

I have a client that is currently using PAGETECH to convert all PCL to PDF, which has been working fine with there HP Fleet, however they have recently purchased some Canon iR-ADVANCE series devices. When the run the same process with the canon device they get error pages in the PDF.

Does PAGETECH work with the Canon devices? If so what steps does the customer need to do to get this working.

Since most of those printers support three emulations, we need to first determine if the file is actually PCL.

If it’s PCL, your company could have added a new proprietary compression method? Or, the user created a document with fonts that are unsupported or require different preference settings?

The only way to determine the cause of the problem is to send the PCL file (zipped) to me for analysis. And, explain your application, workflow, indexing and other requirements.
